Bonn, 28 October 2026 – 140 kilometres, 4,800 metres of elevation gain, at the end of November: KoBoLT is one of Germany’s toughest ultratrail qualifying races. Anyone setting off from Ehrenbreitstein Fortress in Koblenz at 11 a.m. on 28 November knows exactly what lies ahead: cold temperatures, darkness, the full challenge of the Rheinsteig trail, and the finish line at the Jupp-Gassen-Halle in Oberkassel – sometime the following day. This year marks the 16th edition of KoBoLT, and BusinessCode is back on board.

“What makes KoBoLT special is exactly what drives us: people who achieve extraordinary things through genuine dedication,” says Martin Schulze, CEO of BusinessCode. “Bernd Fischer, Michael Krause, Guido Kreuzberg and Stefan Scherzer built this race out of personal passion, without a large organisation behind them, but with an incredible amount of heart and commitment. That is something we truly value.”

BusinessCode has been associated with KoBoLT since 2013. After a two-year break, the decision to return as a sponsor is a deliberate one. The pursuit of excellence that defines KoBoLT reflects the company’s own philosophy: firmly rooted in the region, internationally competitive, and always striving to deliver outstanding performance.

“For us, KoBoLT is not traditional sponsorship. It is a commitment to people who see excellence not as an obligation, but as a mindset,” Schulze explains. “This is an attitude we recognise from our own daily work. We are delighted to join forces with the KoBoLT team once again to highlight these shared values.”

The 16th KoBoLT will take place on 28 and 29 November 2026, featuring three distances: the KoBoLT covering 140 km with 4,800 metres of elevation gain (starting at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress in Koblenz at 11 a.m.), the Kleine KoBoLT covering 99 km with 3,800 metres of elevation gain (starting in Rengsdorf at 2 p.m.), and “Auge um Auge” covering 73 km with 2,800 metres of elevation gain (starting in Oberkassel at midnight). All three routes follow the Rheinsteig trail and are UTMB-certified. KoBoLT is a non-profit event.
