On June 20th, the regional SME award “Ludwig” was presented at the Rhein-Sieg Forum. As a jury member, CEO Martin Schulze was involved in selecting the winners and had the honor of delivering the keynote speech in the “Humanist” category.

Almost a year after CEO Martin Schulze, together with CEO Martin Bernemann, received the coveted SME award “Ludwig,” he was once again on stage at the award ceremony—this time as a juror and keynote speaker.

BusinessCode had won the “Ludwig 2020/21” in the category of business succession for its unique succession model. Martin Schulze was able to bring the experience from his own participation in the competition into this year’s jury. The challenge was evident during the jury meeting: 17 companies had applied for the “Ludwig 2022,” from which an overall winner and winners in six categories had to be selected.

During the jury meeting, there was an intensive discussion about the companies’ submitted questionnaires. Schulze had already gained first impressions in March at the nomination evening held at Malente’s Theater Palast. There, the nominated companies presented themselves, and the jurors had to pay close attention to how the companies positioned themselves. Our CEO still remembered vividly how it feels to be in the spotlight.

At the jury meeting, each juror submitted their selection of candidates and justified their decisions. The final step was the award ceremony at the Rhein-Sieg Forum, where the jury members traditionally deliver the keynote speeches and present certificates and prizes to the winners. Thus, our CEO stood on stage together with jury member and former “Ludwig” winner Holger Schwan from Projektservice Schwan GmbH to deliver the keynote speech in the “Humanist” category. Schulze and Schwan then jointly presented the certificate and prize to tarent solutions.

Following the official part, celebrations took place in the foyer of the Rhein-Sieg Forum. Now there is a break from the “Ludwig” before the next competition round begins in the fall. For our CEO, it could become a tradition to participate again as a jury member and help select and honor the next winners.
